Space-time evolution rules study on acoustic emission location in rock under cyclic loading

Jiang XU, Shuchun LI, Yunqi TAO, Yongdong JIANG, Xiaojun TANG,

Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering 2009, Volume 3, Issue 4,   Pages 422-427 doi: 10.1007/s11709-009-0056-8

Abstract: An acoustic emission (AE) location experiment was performed on sandstone using an advanced AE test system, and the location points changed slowly. There was a modest increase of location points in every cycle. The tendency of steady development could be predicted from the AE location events.Location events changed quite rapidly and assembled and linked continuously in the core zone.

Network-based optimization techniques for wind farm location decisions

Jorge Ignacio CISNEROS-SALDANA, Seyedmohammadhossein HOSSEINIAN, Sergiy BUTENKO

Frontiers of Engineering Management 2018, Volume 5, Issue 4,   Pages 533-540 doi: 10.15302/J-FEM-2018025

Abstract:

This study aims to find appropriate locations for wind farms that can maximize the overall energy output while controlling the effects of wind speed variability. High wind speeds are required to obtain the maximum possible power output of a wind farm. However, balancing the wind energy supplies over time by selecting diverse locations is necessary. These issues are addressed using network-based models. Hence, actual wind speed data are utilized to demonstrate the advantages of the proposed approach.

Comparison of reference values for immune recovery between event-free patients receiving haploidentical

Xuying Pei, Xiangyu Zhao, Yu Wang, Lanping Xu, Xiaohui Zhang, Kaiyan Liu, Yingjun Chang, Xiaojun Huang

Frontiers of Medicine 2018, Volume 12, Issue 2,   Pages 153-163 doi: 10.1007/s11684-017-0548-1

Abstract:

To establish optimal reference values for recovered immune cell subsets, we prospectively investigated post-transplant immune reconstitution (IR) in 144 patients who received allogeneic stem cell transplantation (allo-SCT) and without showing any of the following events: poor graft function, grades II?IV acute graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), serious chronic GVHD, serious bacterial infection, invasive fungal infection, or relapse or death in the first year after transplantation. IR was rapid in monocytes, intermediate in lymphocytes, CD3+ T cells, CD8+ T cells, and CD19+ B cells, and very slow in CD4+ T cells in the entire patient cohort. Immune recovery was generally faster under HLA-matched sibling donor transplantation than under haploidentical transplantation. Results suggest that patients with an IR comparable to the reference values display superior survival, and the levels of recovery in immune cells need not reach those in healthy donor in the first year after transplantation. We suggest that data from this recipient cohort should be used as reference values for post-transplant immune cell counts in patients receiving HSCT.

A Survey of the Observability for Single Observer Passive Location

Deng Xinpu

Strategic Study of CAE 2007, Volume 9, Issue 11,   Pages 54-62

Abstract:

A basic requirement for passive state estimation using single observer is the existence of a unique tracking solution.  This leads to the question of observability. The target state is observable over the time interval if,  and only if,  it is uniquely determined by the measurements taken in that interval.  In this paper,  the state-observability problem for passive target tracking by angle measurements is analyzed using three methods: the geometrical method,  the elementary algebraic method and linear system method.  The observability for target tracking with frequency measurements is also analyzed.  Degree of observability is discussed.  And a concise review of papers on observability analysis is presented.
